The Department of Sociology proudly presents Human Library, a flagship academic programme of Loyola College Carnival - Lumora 2026. Moving beyond conventional textbooks, Human Library brings an accomplished resource person with rich experience in social intervention and community engagement as a ‘living book.’ Participants will have the unique opportunity to ‘turn the pages’ of a life through meaningful conversation, exploring professional experiences, social realities, challenges, interventions, and insights. An intellectually enriching space for students, educators, and the academic community, the programme transforms lived experience into knowledge and dialogue into learning. Come, turn the pages of a life and discover the lessons beyond the textbook.
Rules & Rounds
1. Eligibility: Participants registered for the Lumora 2026 Academic Events are eligible to attend the Human Library programme. 2. Entry Pass: Participants must produce their valid Lumora 2026 pass for entry. 3. Limited Seats: Participation is limited and will be permitted subject to the availability of seating/venue capacity. 4. First-Come, First-Served: Entry will be provided on a first-come, first-served basis, subject to venue capacity. 5. Registration: Participants are required to complete the prescribed registration process for the programme, if applicable. 6. Punctuality: Participants should report to the venue before the scheduled starting time. 7. Academic Conduct: Participants are expected to maintain discipline, respectful conduct, and academic decorum throughout the session. 8. Interaction: Participants may engage with the Human Book through questions and discussion, while respecting the speaker's experiences and perspectives. 9. Final Decision: The organising committee's decision regarding admission and participation shall be final.
