Rules & Rounds

- Individual participation. Theme: Reclaiming History: From Scrap to Sovereignty. Single-round miniature design competition showcasing micro-scale fashion crafted entirely from reclaimed materials. - Individual physical display of a miniature couture garment (3 hours preparation time), accompanied by a brief 2-minute oral presentation and artist statement explaining the historical and sustainable elements. - Garments must fit standard miniature figures or dress forms (e.g., 1:6 or 1:12 scale); silhouettes, corsetry, and drapery must accurately reflect late 18th-century French Revolution aesthetics, from royal Versailles opulence to revolutionary sans-culottes attire. - A minimum of 80% of the entry must consist of reclaimed, upcycled, or post-consumer materials (scrap fabrics, plastics, packaging, wire, paper, or salvaged haberdashery); fresh, off-the-roll materials should be kept to a bare minimum. - Materials and mini mannequins will be provided by the event holders; participants must bring their own measuring and cutting tools (tapes, scale, scissors, etc.). - Participants must report to the venue at least 30 minutes before the event begins, and submit a brief 2-3 sentence artist statement detailing the historical reference point and a breakdown of the recycled items used. - Visible glue or raw, unworked plastic without intentional artistic finish will result in point deductions. The judges' decision will be final and binding; organizers reserve the right to modify the event format if required.
